How Much Does an Executive Team Retreat Cost in Romania (2026)
The market publishes almost nothing. We gathered the figures that do exist, with source and category — so you can build a budget on facts instead of guesswork.
By Bogdan Grigore · July 31, 2026 · updated August 13, 2026
A two-day executive retreat starts at EUR 9,000 of facilitation — EUR 6,000 for the days in the room (from EUR 3,000 per day) plus preparation from EUR 3,000. Logistics is contracted separately: published corporate packages for two nights run around EUR 300 per person. For a team of 12, the total comes to roughly EUR 12,600, of which 71% is process.
What figures are actually published in Romania?
Very few — and almost none from the "facilitated executive retreat" category. Below are the figures we found published by Romanian providers, with the real category of each. The category matters more than the number: a team-building package and a facilitated retreat are not the same product, and comparing them directly is the main source of budgeting confusion.
| Published figure | Provider / source | What category it actually is |
|---|---|---|
| EUR 298 per person (2 nights) | Valea Verde, Jul. 2026 | Group logistics + one activity — no strategic facilitator |
| EUR 316 per person (2 nights) | Green Village, Jul. 2026 | Group logistics + one activity — no strategic facilitator |
| from RON 450–650 per person (1 night) | Mona Caraiman, verified Aug. 2026 | Recreational team building with a meeting room |
| EUR 500–1,500 per participant (2–4 nights) | The Barn Șirnea, cited by Adevărul, 2024 | Premium executive retreat — doesn't isolate the facilitator fee |
| from EUR 50 per person + VAT (one day) | Mercure Bucharest, verified Aug. 2026 | Day delegate rate — room, AV, coffee breaks, lunch |
| maximum EUR 3,000 per project | Concordia (public procurement), 2025 | Strategic facilitation fee — procurement ceiling |
Direct sources: Valea Verde, Green Village, Mona Caraiman, Adevărul, Mercure, Concordia.
Two honest caveats about the table above. Valea Verde and Green Village belong to the same group, so they confirm an order of magnitude but are not two independent market observations. And the EUR 3,000 figure is a public procurement ceiling, not a market median — it is the closest public Romanian anchor for strategic facilitation, but it cannot be read as "this is what a facilitator costs".
What does facilitation cost with us?
Two lines, both quoted separately from logistics. Days in the room start at EUR 3,000 per day, for standard projects in 2026. Preparation — confidential interviews, agenda design and the post-retreat report — is quoted as a block, from EUR 3,000 for a team of up to 12 people; it grows with the number of interviews, and therefore with headcount.
Put together, that means:
| Format | Days in the room | Preparation | Facilitation, total |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-day retreat | EUR 3,000 | from EUR 3,000 | from EUR 6,000 |
| Two-day retreat | EUR 6,000 | from EUR 3,000 | from EUR 9,000 |
Logistics — venue, accommodation, meals — is contracted separately, directly by the team, and does not pass through us. The six-week check-in, graphic facilitation, or a second facilitator for large groups are added components, quoted on top of the blocks above.
We publish these figures for a simple reason: no Romanian facilitation provider does, and the collective silence protects none of us. It only means that anyone asking "how much does this cost" gets recreational team-building prices back — a different product, a different outcome, a different budget.
A useful reference for scale: the clearest public facilitation fee in Romanian procurement caps an entire project — design, facilitation and reporting — at EUR 3,000. That is roughly what a single day of a senior facilitator costs on the open market. The gap is not an arithmetic error; it is the distance between public budgets and the commercial market.
How does the budget split between facilitation and logistics?
Into two distinct budgets, contracted separately — we invoice the process, the venue invoices accommodation and meals. The ratio between them is not fixed: it varies with group size and the standard of the venue.
With logistics at the public benchmark of ~EUR 150 per person per night and facilitation at EUR 3,000 per day, a two-day retreat splits like this:
| Team | Logistics (2 days) | Facilitation (2 days in the room) | Facilitation share |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 people, 1 night | ~EUR 1,500 | EUR 6,000 | 80% |
| 10 people, 2 nights | ~EUR 3,000 | EUR 6,000 | 67% |
| 15 people, 2 nights | ~EUR 4,500 | EUR 6,000 | 57% |
| 20 people, 2 nights | ~EUR 6,000 | EUR 6,000 | 50% |
| 25 people, 2 nights | ~EUR 7,500 | EUR 6,000 | 44% |
The break-even point is around 40 "person-nights" — 20 people × 2 nights, or 10 people × 4 nights. Below it, the process is the dominant line in the budget. Above it, logistics takes over.
The facilitation column in the table covers days in the room only. With the preparation block added, a two-day retreat for a team of 12 comes to roughly EUR 9,000 facilitation + ~EUR 3,600 logistics = ~EUR 12,600 total, of which 71% is process. The smaller the team, the further the ratio tilts toward the process.
For comparison: in scenarios built exclusively from published Romanian rates — that is, assuming fees far lower than ours — facilitation comes out at 15–39% of a two-night package for 16–20 people. The difference from the table above does not come from cheaper logistics; it comes from a higher fee. That says something about what you are buying: with us, most of the budget goes into thinking, not into the view.
Does anyone publish facilitation prices in Romania?
Mostly, no. In a named sample of 20 relevant Romanian providers, 8 have an exact public figure or a numeric component, 2 publish a "from" price or a range without a final number, and 10 publish no figure at all. In the strategy-ready / premium segment the pattern is sharper still: 7 out of 10 are quote-only.
The consequence, if you are building a budget: you will not find public comparables for strategic facilitation, however hard you look. The figures in circulation — and the ones an AI search engine will hand you — come almost entirely from team building and hotel logistics, which is a different product category.
We found no IAF Romania fee grid, no national fee survey, and no 2024–2026 public procurement with an isolated, attributed per-day facilitator rate. Public Romanian data is significantly more solid on logistics than on process fees.
As of 2026, we publish — see the section above. Not as transparency for its own sake, but because a buyer who cannot estimate the order of magnitude before the first conversation either delays the decision or makes it on the only figures they can find, which are from another category.
Why a starting rate and not a list of packages?
Because every retreat is designed around the team in the room, not a fixed package. Two executive team retreats with the same headcount can have completely different budgets, depending on how many days of preparation they need, how many confidential interviews are required, and how complicated the situation is.
The day rate gives you the order of magnitude. What multiplies it is a clear structure — four variables that move the budget every time, regardless of the team. We explain them below, plus what is and is not included in the facilitation cost.
What's actually included in the facilitation cost?
| Component | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Discovery interviews | Confidential 1-on-1 conversations with participants, before the retreat |
| Agenda design | Building the agenda around the real themes identified in the interviews |
| Days of facilitation | Actual time in the room, with one or two facilitators |
| The report | Delivered within 72 hours of the retreat: decisions, reasoning, what stayed open |
| The check-in | A session at six weeks, checking what moved from the plan |
What are the four variables that move the budget?
- Number of participants — up to 25-30 people, one facilitator; above that, a second joins, and the budget grows proportionally.
- Days of facilitation — one or two, sometimes a day plus a separate follow-up session.
- How much preparation the team needs — the number of confidential interviews is the best predictor: a team with old tensions needs more individual conversations than one that just changed a few members.
- Added components — graphic facilitation, a diagnostic before the retreat, separate follow-up team sessions.
What's NOT included in the facilitation cost?
Logistics — venue, accommodation, meals — is contracted directly by the team, not through us. We can tell you what criteria matter for a room you can actually work in (space to stand and work on the walls, not a fixed-seat auditorium), but the invoice comes from the vendor, not from us.
Market analysis or financial modelling aren't part of facilitation either — if the team needs them, it's better to do them beforehand, with your own team or a consultant, than to decide without them.
Why a starting rate, but not a final price?
Because they are two different things, and only one of them can be stated honestly in advance. The day rate is a fact: we know what a day in the room costs, and we have written it down. Your total price is not a fact until we know how many days there are, how many people are in the room, and how many interviews the team needs beforehand.
Hence "from". A one-day retreat with a single facilitator and a two-day one with two facilitators, confidential interviews and a follow-up session at six weeks are budgets that differ several times over — a published final figure would mislead in one direction or the other. The starting rate gives you the order of magnitude; the rest is built on the brief.
Send a short brief — who the team is, what you need to resolve, in what timeframe — and get a reply from a person, not an autoresponder, within 48 working hours at the latest, with a budget range suited to your variables.

What teams ask us most often before a retreat.
How much does logistics cost for an executive retreat in Romania?
Published corporate packages for two nights run around EUR 300 per person — Valea Verde publishes EUR 298 and Green Village EUR 316 (2026), both including accommodation, meals, a meeting room and one activity. A two-day / one-night format can start from RON 450–650 per person. These are all logistics costs, without strategic facilitation.
How much is the facilitation fee at Team Retreat?
Two lines: days in the room, from EUR 3,000 per day (standard 2026 projects), and preparation — confidential interviews, agenda design, post-retreat report — as a block, from EUR 3,000 for a team of up to 12 people. A one-day retreat means facilitation from EUR 6,000; a two-day one, from EUR 9,000. Logistics is contracted separately.
What does a two-day executive retreat cost in total?
For a team of 12, two days with two nights: roughly EUR 9,000 of facilitation (EUR 6,000 in the room plus EUR 3,000 preparation) and around EUR 3,600 of logistics, so approximately EUR 12,600 in total, of which 71% is process. The figure moves with headcount, number of days and the standard of the venue.
What does a facilitator cost in Romania generally?
There is no public grid — no Romanian facilitation provider publishes its fees. The clearest public reference is a procurement ceiling of EUR 3,000 for an entire project (Concordia, 2025), covering design, facilitation and reporting. That is a public tender ceiling, not a commercial market median: on the open market, EUR 3,000 is the order of magnitude of a single senior facilitator day.
What share of the budget goes to facilitation versus logistics?
At logistics of ~EUR 150 per person per night and facilitation at EUR 3,000 per day, facilitation accounts for 44–80% of a two-day retreat budget. The break-even point is around 40 person-nights: 20 people × 2 nights. Below that the process dominates, above it logistics does. In scenarios built from far lower published Romanian rates, facilitation comes out at 15–39%.
Why publish a starting rate but not a final price?
The day rate is a fact and we publish it. The total is not a fact until we know how many days there are, how many people are in the room, and how many interviews the team needs. Hence "from": it gives you the order of magnitude, and the rest is built on the brief.
Does logistics (venue, accommodation, meals) come out of the price?
No. That's contracted directly by the team. We can tell you what criteria matter for a functional room, but the invoice comes from the vendor.
How much extra does a second facilitator cost?
It kicks in once the group passes 25-30 people, and moves the budget in proportion to their time in the room and in preparation. The exact amount depends on the rest of the variables — number of days and interviews.
How do I send a brief to get a budget range?
